Hey, I’m Julian.

A wedding photographer from Düsseldorf, with my camera wherever real stories happen.

No direction. No posing. Just your day.

I’m not a fan of too many staged shots. The best photographs happen when I stay in the background and am simply there: for the tear during the vows, the laughter right after, or a hand reaching for another.

My style tends to be quiet, documentary and inspired by editorial photography. In the end, only one thing matters to me: that your photographs feel exactly like the moment itself.

I photographed my first weddings here in the Rhineland. These days I work with couples all over Germany and around the world, from Tuscany to Cape Town.

Away from the camera

Who I am the rest of the time.

When I’m not taking photos, I’m happiest surrounded by people. At thirty, an espresso machine, a road bike and Hyrox are apparently meant to be part of my life. I do play sport, just less regularly than the trend demands. I did at least jump on the padel trend: after my first game I went straight out and bought two rackets.

Other than that, I’m a would-be wine connoisseur, but a wine lover through and through. Ever since I got my boat licence, I’ve enjoyed taking a bottle out on the Rhine with friends.

There’s almost always music playing. Unlike most people my age, I’d rather listen to calmer, sentimental songs from the seventies, eighties and nineties than hard techno and noise. You’ll rarely find me in a club anyway: the company matters more to me than the place. At a sundowner, though, things can drift towards the gentler end of techno, as long as there are still vocals and I can sing along badly.

My friends describe me as funny, outgoing, honest and direct, but also as the one who’s quickest to notice how someone is really doing. I bring those qualities with me to your wedding.
