Hey, I am Julian.

A wedding photographer from Düsseldorf, with the camera where real stories happen.

No direction. No posing. Just your day.

I am not a fan of too many staged scenes. The best photographs happen when I stay in the background and simply am there: for the tear during the vows, the laugh right after or the hand that looks for another one.

My style is rather quiet, documentary and inspired by editorials. In the end only one thing counts for me, that your photographs feel exactly like the moment itself.

I photographed my first weddings here in the Rhineland. Today I am with couples all over Germany and around the world, from Tuscany to Cape Town.

Away from the camera

Who I am besides that.

When I am not photographing, I am happiest around people. Even though at thirty an espresso machine, a road bike and Hyrox are supposed to be part of my life, I do play sport, but rather less regularly than the trend would like. I did at least pick up the padel trend, and after the first time I went straight out and bought two rackets.

Beyond that I am a would-be wine expert, but all the more a genuine wine lover, which I like to combine with going down the Rhine with friends ever since I got my boat licence.

There is almost always music playing. Unlike most people my age I would rather listen to calmer, sentimental songs from the seventies, eighties and nineties than to hard techno and noise. You will rarely find me in a club anyway: the people matter more to me than the place, and at a sundowner it may then drift towards the quiet end of techno, as long as there is still singing in it and I can join in badly.

My friends describe me as funny, outgoing, honest and direct and at the same time as the one who notices first how someone is really doing. I bring those qualities with me when I am with you.
